Notes:

Although last operated by a company called Lanzair, Central American appears to have been the last legitimate owner. The Connie was abandoned at Lome in November 1976 and caught fire nearly a year later. It was later used for fire training then broken up.

My first overseas trip was on a Connie flown by Transocean. The L-749A took us from Oakland to Okinawa by way of Honolulu, Wake and Guam. Sad to see one in such a heap: even though our ride served as The Queen's "carriage" during her 1954 visit to Australia, and was the first Connie in Air India's fleet, it still ended up on the scrap heap in 1972.
