A monument to the Yak-42 airplane was established in front of the old Saratov airport. These airplanes were built in this city - at the Saratov Aviation Plant. Thanks to local aviation enthusiasts, this Yak-42 of the former Saratov Airlines was saved from scrapping and repainted in the "proper" colors of the Soviet Aeroflot.
