Notes:

In 1988 CVW-8 was moved to CVN-71 and the wing was reformed as the first "Notional Air Wing" with two Sqdrons. each of F-14, F/A-18 and A-6E. It would be the only one created and would make only two Med deployements. In the photo you can see the rare image of two Intruders Squadrons VA-35 "Black Phanters" and VA-36 "Roadrunners" in the same carrier.
