A historic relic for the ecuadorian aviation... the great “Canario 01”. This plane was operated by the Ecuadorian defunct airline “Icaro” and used to had the livery of the Barcelona SC soccer team. The F28 overshoot the runway at the old Quito's airport (SEQU) on September 22th, 2008 and it was withdrawn from use. For years, it was preserved at an Inn in the city of Salcedo, near Latacunga. But now, it's preserved near the city of Molleturo in Azuay. As you can see, the fuselage is without its wings, engines, and tail, but they are nearby it. Soon, it will be moved to Cuenca. It is really sad to see this airframe in these conditions after many flights done.

Hi Douglas, actually the photo is right, it was taken at Molleturo. At that time, the aircraft was still at Molleturo, and then it was transported to Santa Isabel where now it rests as a coffee shop. Greetings!!
It's amazing the photo, but actually it's in Santa Isabel, Azuay, now it's going to be a disco, or something like that, but the story is fine; by the way it will be painted to make it look cool, thanks for your photo
At least she´ll have a second life as a preserved airplane for the next years. However, we all miss seeing her flying. :(
