The Harrier was developed by Hawker Siddeley back in the 60's and was the first V/STOL (vertical/short takeoff and landing). In the 70's was exported to the United States as the AV-8A, for use by the US Marine Corps. Here we can see one of them exposed on board the USS Intrepid.
