This aircraft was loaned to the museum in 2001 by the United States Air Force Museum to represent the aircraft based at RAF Mildenhall. This "Habu" served until 21st January 1990 and flown the last operational flight of Detachment 1 / 9th SRW from Kadena AB, Okinawa. It flew for a total of 2835.9 hours and this aircraft set a flight altitude record of 85,069ft in July 1976. It is also the only SR-71 on display outside of the USA.
