Low res ‘Air to Air’ photo of RAAF 5 Squadron Bell UH-1D A2-505 Cn 9505, in transit between RAAF Base Williamtown and Coffs Harbour NSW, on 07Sep1969. The Huey is in original ‘Olive Drab Matte’ livery, as Delivered. (Note ‘RAAF’ tail boom marking.) Photo taken through the Pilot’s windscreen of A2-649. The Deployment was for Exercise ‘Fixfast’ at Mt Byron, SE Queensland. A2-505 was later upgraded to UH-1H standard (by fitment of a Lycoming T53-L13 engine.) A2-505 was Donated to PNGDF August 1989 with supply of spares for 2 years under Project 'WIT KOKI' as PNGDF 0401 (Ref: ADF-Serials.) Apologies for quality, due to a vibrating photo platform (A2-649), curved perspex windows and grainy Agfa CT18 35mm slide film.
