Notes:

Low res Air to Air photo of RAAF 5 Squadron UH-1D A2-506 Cn 9506 (and another UH-1D in the A2-505 to A2-510 Block) departing RAAF Base Fairbairn (YSCB) in rain, towards Duntroon / Mt Ainslie on 12Sep1968. Photo taken (looking south-west) from UH-1B A2-1023 at the start of a 45 minute five-Huey formation flight over Canberra during rain showers. The Hueys are in original ‘Olive Drab Matte’ livery, as Delivered. (Note ‘RAAF’ tail boom marking. Also, the Kangaroo Roundel on the tail-boom is incorrectly applied, facing aft). At the time, 5 Squadron was training Aircrew and ground-crew for service with 9 Squadron in South Vietnam. A2-506 was later upgraded to UH-1H (by fitment of a Lycoming T53-L13 engine.) A2-506 was Donated to PNGDF August 1989 with supply of spares for 2 years under Project 'WIT KOKI' as PNGDF 0402 (Ref: ADF-Serials.) Apologies for low quality, due to rain and grainy Agfa CT18 35mm slide film.
