"V. Chkalov" has lost its engines, corporate identity and name. Due to some severe airframe corrosion (as was told by an informed person) RA-96005 was not intended to resume operation with another operator. After more than a year of storage it was stripped of most of equipment and towed to the eastern part of the airfield to serve as a rescue training airframe instead of former Il-62.
