Notes:

At Left - Front Port-side view of fuselage of WWII vintage Japan - Army (Imperial Japanese Army Air Service) Kawasaki Ki 61 Hien (Tony) Cn 640 [Possibly Uncoded Serial Number 540] under restoration at HARS Wollongong (YWOL) on 03May2015. The Ki 61 was built in Nov 1943 and arrived in Papua New Guinea in Dec 1943. The aircraft was assigned to the 68th Sentai, and probably based at Boram Airfield in the Wewak area. She force landed wheels-up near Aitape in 1944, and was recovered to the PNG War Museum in 1975. Ref: Pacific Wrecks website. Along-side at Right is the un-restored engineless nose and cockpit area of 'chopped' WWII vintage Japan - Army (Imperial Japanese Army Air Service) Kawasaki Ki 61 Hien (Tony) Cn 299 [Possibly Uncoded Serial Number 199], which I photographed at the PNG War Museum in Port Moresby on 16Mar1988. My outdoors 1988 photos of this forward fuselage were incorrectly uploaded as Cn 640 – Apologies.
