Spitfire TR IX ZK-WDQ, plus Spitfire IX ZK-SPI, Spitfire XIV NH799, P-51 Mustang ZK-TAF and P-40 Kittyhawk ZK-RMH flew multiple dummy attacks against mock-up German V-1 (Feisler 103) ‘Buzz-Bombs’ on Omaka Airfield (NZOM) on Saturday 04Apr2015. (The Finale of the Classic Fighters Omaka Airshow.) One wood/fabric V-1 mock-up exploded with a large fire-ball as Spitfire TR IX ZK-WDQ (MH 367 Cn CBAF5487 Code FL-A) passed by, with spectacular results. Flying V-1 debris looks a bit close to the Spitfire. The Sunday 'attacks' blew up another mock-up V-1, without a fire-ball, because this explosion set fire to the grass on the runway. The V-1 Replica which flew three times during the Easter weekend escaped unscathed!
