RAAF 37 Sqn C-130J-30 A97-440 Cn 382-5440 did a ‘stealthy night-time arrival’ at Avalon during the fireworks display. The Hercules then crossed Avalon's Rwy 18/36 heading West, and generated her own fireworks, by firing a burst of ‘Infra-red self-protection’ flares. This photo was taken at 2103 hrs during the finale of the 2015 Avalon International Night Airshow on Friday 27Feb2015. This Hercules has a lighter grey livery than the other two C-130Js it flew with in formation during the airshow. (A similar spectacle was delivered by A97-468 at Avalon on 01Mar2013.)
