All ten of the Frecce Tricolori are seen here making a vertical formation break during their display at RIAT 2013, the magnificent finale of that year’s show. The Aeronautica Militare aerobatic team, formally known as 313 Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatic, Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale (PAN) Frecce Tricolori, is based at Rivolto in the north-eastern tip of Italy bordering Austria and Slovenia. The team started with Sabres in 1961 and graduated to FIAT G-91s in 1964 and the MB-339 in 1981.
