One of the helicopters involved in the rescue operation for the researcher who stuck around 1000 meters below earth's surface in the Riesending cave near the german austrian border with a serious head injury. About 700 people took part in the rescue, leading to the successful liberation of the victim 12 days after the incident. Several helicopters of the German Armed Forces, Federal Police and Bavarian Police were involved, operating mainly out of the Army barracks in Strub near Bad Reichenhall.
