A 208 Sqn T.1 streaks through the Bwlch on a sunny autumn afternoon. The aircraft bears the name of 4FTS QFI Flt Lt Tom Sawle. The squadron’s primary task is the training of Royal Saudi Air Force pilots in support of the recent Typhoon deal. The UKMFTS training project, which manages RAF training on the Hawk T.2, has no capacity for international training despite this having been made an increasing defence commitment by the current government.
