This is the domestic check-in area. There is similar area behind the camera too. The departure is seen on the left. Most importantly from the departure gate area, there is fantastic view over the ramp and parts of the runway. Every movement can be seen within reasonable distance. As a bonus the security/police are not bothered about spotting/photographing. Kolkata is the capital of the state of West Bengal. Bangla writings can be see on the ceiling, which I thought was a nice touch.
