View of the Nose/ Flight Deck of a Beaufighter Representing UK Built RAAF Beaufighter Mk.1c A19-50 Cn T5070 ‘Wendy-Joy II’, taken at Williamtown (YWLM) on 10May2014. The distinctive cross-section Beaufighter nose/ cockpit on display at Fighter World was constructed at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) at Albion Park by Mr Rob Grienart. The nose section is marked to represent Beaufighter A19-50 operated by Mostyn Morgan and Fred Cassidy from 5 Mile Drome (Wards Strip) near Port Moresby during WWII. (Ref: Fighter World). The aircraft was initially Allotted to 2AD on 13Jul1942, and to 30 Squadron (Code LY-X) on 26Oct1942. Destroyed on 12Apr1942 by a direct bomb hit during Japanese raid on Wards Strip NT.
