The Memorial commemorated the night landing at Albury Racecourse by the real PH-AJU on 24Oct1934 near the end of the 1934 England- Australia Air Race, won by DH-88 Comet G-ACSS. The 80th Anniversary of this event was 24Oct2014. This aircraft was actually RAAF DC-2 A30-11 Cn 1286, painted to represent KLM PH-AJU. Low res photo.
