The M-345 is a basic and advanced jet trainer designed to be interoperable (and sharing training syllabi) with the higher-performance M-346, which was developed from the Russo-Italian collaborative Yak-130. The M-345 emphasises efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The company demonstrator seen here at FIA 2014 appeared in the colours of the Frecce Tricolori in recognition of the fact that the Italian Air Force has declared its intention to procure the type to replace its MB-339s.
