It’s not often you get light and conditions like this in HKG, so when the opportunity arises take it! As of August 2014, Cathay Pacific has accelerated plans to retire the A340s, and they aim to phase out this type completely by end of 2017. Definitely a win for Cathay in terms of modernizing their fleet and making it more efficient, but a terrible loss from a photography perspective.
