Notes:

Known as the "missle with a man in it", the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was the first American fighter capable of reaching twice the speed of sound. It was primarily designed as supersonic interceptor aircraft for the USAF, but was used by more than a dozen nations. The Italian Airforce used it till 2004. Pictured here is the 104A variant which was the first production variant and was built in 1957. After serving in many squadrons in the USAF, it was sold to the Royal Jordanian Airforce. After several decades of service in the middle east, it was sold to private individuals in the US. Cavanaugh museum purchased the the aircraft in 1994 and put it up for static display.
