Thistle Hotel Heathrow restaurant terrace is an excellent but not that often used spotting location. Easily accessible by free bus nr. 423. About 5 min ride from T5, 20min from Hatton Cross tube station. Get off at Thistle Hotel bus stop, cant miss it. Usable only in summer months when sun crosses the 09/27 axis and starts illuminating aircraft from north. Higher temperatures usually work with you to extend take off distances and you have all the heavies lifting off 27R in a great angle. Spot in okay for 09L arrivals as well. Have a nice (not overpriced) dinner with drink and finish your great spotting day at LHR right here !
