Great photo of the usually sleepy Cloncurry Airport, but on this particular day all bays are occupied on an extremely hot afternoon in the outback. Seen here on the ramp is the inaugural Virgin Australia flight ready for departure back to Brisbane, plus two Alliance Airlines F100's operating mining charters for the Ernest Henry Mine. I have also included the original Qantas Hanger on the left of the photo which was built in 1922. Cloncurry Airport has a very rich history in aviation in Australia. A big thanks to Russell for the the air-side access on this special occasion
