Del/5/6/1982 A bit lost in the history of Mexican aviation,The Tonatiuh MX-1 was built by the Navy of Mexico (SEMARNAT) in collaboration with the (IPN) National Polytechnic Institute through the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ESIME). The design work of Tonatiuh began in February 1978, completing construction of the first prototype in 1980, with an investment of two million pesos. The first flight of the prototype took place on May 18, 1980, performing the first official flight on June 1 of that year. This is the only thing left of the 8 aircraft.
