With 1294 kills, this was probably the best fighter of World War 1.
Manufactured by Sopwith Aviation Company, the F.I was a single seat, biplane fighter with a heavy, powerful rotary engine and twin synchronized machine guns that produced heavy fire power. Nearly 5500 of them were produced and were used on the western front, for home land defence and ground attacks.
The F.I replica pictured here was built in 1968.
