N905NA, the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, landed at Ellington few days before the Wings Over Houston Air Show 2012. After the show, the aircraft remained parked near NASA's hangar 990 until August 22nd, 2013, when NASA officially transferred it to Space Center Houston. Shortly after the transfer, the 747 was moved to a closed taxiway on the south corner of Ellington, where it is being dismantled for transportation to Space Center Houston.
