Close cropped view of the front Port side of an RAF Avro 683 Lancaster MkVII on static display at the Museum Of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) Auckland New Zealand on 07Apr2010. The aircraft was Built by Austin Motors Birmingham in 1945 as RAF Avro Lancaster Mk.VII NX665, and Served with the French Navy (Aeronavale) in the Pacific before being acquired in 1964 for display by the founders of MOTAT. She is painted to represent RAF Lancaster Mk.VII ND752 Code AA-O, as a memorial to New Zealand airmen who served with RAF Bomber Command in WWII. A Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engine (as used in most Lancasters) is displayed in front of the aircraft. (Another NX6..
