7:10am local time in Los Angeles as the sun rises at LAX. The orange cloud in the distance is actually a large plume of smoke rising from a brush fire in the foothills above Glendora, about 35 miles away. The fire broke out around 5:50am and eventually grew to over 200 acres, with the smoke plume rising to around 8,000ft and casting a shadow over much of the city.
