Luckily I finally caught VP-BAT at HAM, visiting Lufthansa Technik once again and here on short finals rwy 15. Of the only 45 747SP built there are not more than 16 left in service. VP-BAT made its first flight on March 30th, 1979, then flew for Pan American under the name 'Clipper Liberty Bell', went on to United Airlines in 1986 and is now flying for Qatar Amiri Flight since 1995 (initially VR-BAT, since 1997 as VP-BAT).
