On 29Jun2012, the 50th Anniversary of the Vickers VC-10 was celebrated at Brooklands UK. Occasionally, VC-10s visited Australia. RAF Tanker ZA147 was at RAAF Base Fairbairn ACT on 15Apr1987, to provide Air to Air Refuelling experience for four RAAF 3 Squadron F/A-18A Hornets. (This VC-10 was operated by 101 Squadron RAF, based at Brize Norton.) Close-cropped view looking aft from the mobile stairs with the Stbd engines and tail, and 34 Sqn Hangar 48, visible at rear. I photographed (and uploaded) similar images of Oman Royal Flight VC-10 A4O-AB at Brooklands UK on 12Jul2012, and RAF VC-10 Tanker XR808 at Fairford UK on 07Jul2012.
