Malév Hungarian Airlines (Hungarian: Magyar Légiközlekedési Vállalat, abbreviated Malév), was the flag carrier and principal airline of Hungary between 1946 and 2012. The company's official founding date was 29 March 1946 when the Hungarian-Soviet Civil Air Transport Joint Stock Company (Magyar-Szovjet Légiforgalmi Rt. also known as Maszovlet) was formed. On 25 November 1956, Hungary acquired all the Soviet shares of Maszovlet, and Malév was born. On the 3rd of February 2012, Malév ceased all flight activity after 66 years of continuous operation. Malév 29 March 1946 to 3rd of February 2012. R.I.P.
