A Historic Moment. Two Libyan Air Force Dassault Mirage F1 defected from Libya to Malta without any notice. The Pilots were commanded to bombard Libyan revolutionaries (civilians). The Pilots refused and deflected with their jets to Malta, declaring that they were low on fuel and requested a diversion to MLT. When they Landed they sought political asylum. This Mirage was refurbished by Dassault and is painted with this stunning Desert Camouflage livery. Also note that under the wing, one can see MATRA Type 155 rocket launcher.
