Notes:

A busy but orderly time of day with around 180 flights on the boards from 17.05 to 23.40 and a scene that contrasts hugely with my subsequent T2 experience in April 2010. Having touched down from LAX at an eerily quiet airport on the second day of transatlantic operations to Europe, my cancelled connection flight merely meant that I added +1 to the thousands of people who packed the terminals to the gills as they tried to continue their journeys after volcano Eyjafjallajökull had disrupted air traffic in Europe over the previous week and a half. Note the characteristic gabled Amsterdam skyline on the bottom of each display screen.
