Floating in the Shing Mun Reservoir after it ditched there the previous day. The Puma had been involved in fire-fighting in the nearby woodland when one of its two engines failed. The pilot quickly released the bucket of water but was still unable to maintain altitude and ditched. The yellow floats you can see are part of the helicopter and can be inflated by the pilot when a water landing is imminent. The blue barrels were placed to prevent the helicopter from sinking and the white barriers in the water are to try and contain any oil or other fluid leaks since the reservoir contains drinking water for Hong Kong! Heavy components were removed today to prepare for the lifting of the helicopter out of the reservoir.
