Unfortunately, this aircraft crashed on Nov. 1st, 2010, taking with it the lives of capt. cdr. Laurentiu Chirita and capt. cdr. Sorin Avram. May God rest them in peace. Alex T.
Excellent detail, great composition and use of light on one of the best looking two-seat MiG-21s ever. Sadly, it is also now quite memorable as on Nov. 1, 2010 while taking off from Luna Military Air Base on a weather reconnaissance mission, this aircraft crashed approximately 1 km from the base near the town of Calarasi, killing both crew members. May God take them into Heaven forever.
