The CM170 is an airplane for two crew members, destinated for primary training. It first flew in 1952, is the first jet in the world, built specifically for basic training of pilots. Its salient characteristic is the "V" tail-shaped . The copy on display was desactivated in the early 1990s and donated by the French government to the Aerospace Museum in 1994. This aircraft represents one of the seven-SUD AVIATION SUPER CM170 MAGISTER who flew the Brazilian Air Force (Esquadrilha da Fumaça), 1969-1974. Brasil military model T-24 (CM170R).

FAB1720 in Campo dos Afonsos is not the original one, being c/n 556, but ex Armee de l'Air. I have otproof '556' was on original one c/n 196 (according to Bob Ogden)
