Notes:

One of the best spotting locations in Manchester, the Aviation Viewing Park. Located at the end of Wilmslow Old Road. Google Earth: 53°21'14.62"N 2°17'01.16"W. A great location to spot from in the summer if you have deep pockets and don't mind the odd child bumping and stamping on you just as your taking the shot. Be warned, parking rates have been 'revised' recently. I chose this shot to celebrate my 1000th addition to Jetphotos.net because 4 years ago on July the 14th 2006 I started my aviation photography from this very spot. After countless rejections I managed to get my first shot accepted. My aviation photography started when I booked a flight to Guangzhou on Finnair from Manchester. The equipment was a MD-11. Knowing what a Boeing and Airbus was, I had never heard of an MD-11 (sorry to you MD-11 lovers). A quick look on Google images brought up a picture from JP.net depicting the tri-holer. From that I contacted the first name I could find that had taken shots from Manchester, that turned out to be a Sam Pollitt who helped me with my camera and lens selection. Cheers Sam!! Would like to thank all the people who have spotted with me both here and around the world. Stu Docherty, Sam Pollitt, Lee Shand, Jordan Shand, Nik French, Sam Randles, Azizul Islam, (and the rest of you), and a special thanks to Mr Aalok Gaitonde for the most hectic summer I have ever had for spotting when he came over from India!! Would like to thank Jid Webb for giving me directions to find this location. Also deserving a thank you is Vishal Jolapara for giving me tips on night shots and links. Thanks to lads at History of PIA for thier help. My favorite shot from my last 1000? well here it is. Last but not least, thank you to the screeners who screened thousands of my photos and publishing the best 1000 of them :). Here's to the next 1000.
