| Remarks: Low res side view of RAN Firefly WD828 (Code K271) on static display at the Canberra Aero Club Flying Display in April 1983. This Korean War vintage aircraft (Del 12/50, and powered by a Rolls Royce Griffon engine) wears 'Invasion Stripes, as applied in the 1950s. Also, the name on the Nose-Art near the cockpit is 'Mickey's Mouse'. Col Pay's 'bare metal' T-6G Texan VH-HAJ and the Canberra Control Tower are visible at right. I last saw a Firefly flight demo at Oshkosh in August 2003, by ex-RAN Firefly WB518. Apologies for low quality. |
