good catch but why the escort? It usually happens when you deviate from the route and there is no response from the flight deck when ATC tries to get in contact with the pilots.
There wasn't any pilot's mistake or accident. A pair of F18 escosted us when we entered the Spanish sky as a welcome honours from King of Spain Juan Carlosfor the President of Vietnam in an official visit to Spain under the King's invitation . VN-A144 was used as a charter flight to carry the President and his delegation in this visit... We were all very surprised to notice them from the window although we were informed about this...
