Notes:

Airborne ‘Window View’ taken on 30Jun2009 from R-44 Raven helicopter VH-HOQ, operated by Queensland Helicopters at Longreach Airport (the Birthplace of Qantas). Photo taken at the end of a 10 min Joy-flight in VH-HOQ - Note Helo shadow. (This was my wife's First flight in a helicopter.) The View features Qantas Airways First Boeing 707, VH-XBA, (formerly VH-EBA) at the Qantas Founders Museum . VH-XBA (City of Canberra) is displayed with Qantas Boeing 747-238B VH-EBQ (City of Bunbury) which has been at the Museum since Nov 2002. (Murphy’s Law said that I was in the rear seat, and the View was out the front - Stbd / Pilot’s side! This ‘un-seen’ view was taken by holding my Canon EOS 350D camera at arm’s length, pointing it slightly downwards! No ‘Live-View’ available on the camera I was using then.)

This view of the Qantas Founders Museum at Longreach Airport YLRE is no longer available. The $14.3m Project to build a new 8072 Sq Metre Airpark Roof started in April 2019 and was completed in June 2020. The roof will protect Qantas B747-238B VH-EBQ and B707-138B VH-XBA (originally VH-EBA) from the hot summer sun and occasional rain experienced at this Outback Queensland location. [The Project ‘Artwork’ showed VH-EBQ in original Qantas B747 (ochre stripe) livery. A hint of things to come?] WN
