View of RAAF Sabre A94-922 in the rain (after sunset) at RAAF Base Amberley on 16May1992. The Sabre, also known as the 'Sword', was fitted with a Rolls Royce Avon engine. This aircraft (Del: Mar 1956), in yellow/black 2(F)OCU colours and 'Marksmen' Aerobatic Team logo, was photographed the day that 482 Squadron and 3 Aircraft Depot closed and re-formed as 501 Wing (50 years after these units were formed during WWII.) A94-922 was used as the 'Firestreak' Trials Aircraft, and she was SOC in May 1973. This aircraft is now in New Zealand in RAAF 76 Squadron livery. Low res photo. Apologies for low quality.
