Remarks: We were diverted to the old and now closed Bangkok Don Mueang airport (DMK) due to a major thunderstorm right on top of the current Suvarnabhumi airport. Great flying by the TG crew who had to land in extremely strong crosswinds. Thanks to the nose camera, I could see the pilot crabbing twenty degrees to the left while landing. Passengers sat calmly for two hours while awaiting departure clearance and the aircraft being re-fuelled. We finally departed at around 7:15pm and landed about 7:45pm at Suvarnabhumi.

Lovely shot Devesh, and congrats for making it to the front page yet again!

Thanks Aalok. It was an event filled flight. Thanks to the flight steward (near the forward bulkhead) who let me take the shot and a small reminder of the PR power of JP, to the stewardess (not in the picture) who kept forcing me to go back to my seat. Had to duck out of her way and then return to the corner to take the shot whenever she was not around. :) Did you observe the purple dusk sky visible in the window on the right side of the picture ? I was impressed by the Thai 777. Colourful and bright interiors. Wide and comfortable seats. In contrast their A332s are very poor. Drab interiors, narrow seats and poor legroom.

Nice adventure there Devesh! I always welcome any such extra take-off and landing but never been so lucky! Congrats for the top of the day!
