Rare View of CP Air DC-8-43 CF-CPH 'Empress of Lima' (603) being towed on a dull day at Sydney International Airport on 22Dec1973. Photo uploaded because a CP Air DC-8 and a Trans Australia Airlines Boeing 727 narrowly avoided Sydney's version of 'Tenerife' on 29 January 1971. B727 VH-TJA collided with the tail fin of DC-8-63 CF-CPQ, while taking off from Sydney Airport's Rwy 16. The top half of the DC-8 fin was broken off, and the B727 landed safely with a gashed lower fuselage. A very fortunate outcome! Low res photo.
