Notes:

Rare view of Australian Army Bell 47G-3B1 A1-737 Cn 7417 at Lae Airfield (AYLA) TPNG on 30Jan1975. This helo, Del: 21Jan1969, served at 161 Recce Flight Vietnam from Jun 1969 to Apr 1970. She went into storage in Aug 1975, and was transferred to Indonesia in 1978 as H4701. At rear is RAAF 36 Squadron C-130A A97-207, which had just delivered me to TPNG for the first time. The flight from Laverton to Lae took 6.9 hours. The Herc was carrying a Bell 206B-1 helicopter (A17-021) to TPNG for Tropical Performance Trials. Locals assisted in the 'Birth of the Bell 206B-1 Balus' (removal from the C-130 rear cargo door).
