Derived from the Viking and Valetta, the Varsity was an air crew trainer used primarily by the RAF. 36 of the 163 Varsities were built at Brooklands with many replacing the RAF's Wellington trainers in the early 1950's. This was the 18th Varsity built and delivered to the RAF in 1951 and finally retired from No 6 Flying Training School at RAF Finningley in 1976.
