Notes:

A smoky start for the final time out of Hong Kong. Starting life as G-KILO, British Airways' only ever 747 Freighter, it soon joined Cathay as VR-HVY. B-HVY leaves the Cathay fleet after 26 years of loyal service, including flying on behalf of the RAF during the first Gulf War. Approaching 115,000 flying hours and a major maintenance check it is unfortunately cheaper to sell the aircraft rather than perform the check. Believed to be the highest houred 747 in the world (correct me if I am wrong), B-HVY had it's titles painted out just for this flight as it departs as CX3339 to Cardiff via Dubai. Final destination is Kemble, UK for the scrapman.

Remarkable service record. Doing the math indicates this Queen has spent 13.128 years of its 26 years OFF of the earth!! WOW!!

Daryl Chapman - The Hong Kong Spotters

Very nice and very lucky it was in that bay.. shame to see HVY go.
