The first Mig-17 arrived to Cuba in 1964 and was based at Santa Clara. Since then, this type was the main fighter at the 'Fuerza Aerea Revolucionaria' during the 60s and 70s, being involved in the cuban adventure in Angola, Etiopia, Yemen and Guinea.
