Liftoff of the Space Shuttle Discovery at 11:38:19 from launch pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. This was the beginning of STS-120, delivering the Harmony Module to the International Space Station. This was Discovery's 34th mission in Space, and the 23rd Space Shuttle flight to the Space Station. The mission lasted 15 days, 2 hours and 23 minutes, and traveled more than 6.25 million miles in orbit before safely returning to earth on November 7th. Being able to watch this launch was an amazing experience! (This is also my 400th photo in the database)
