Photo 2 of 2: This photo was part of the scariest 20 seconds of landing i've ever seen a 747 make. It seemed to come in very fast and hit the runway hard creating a huge plume of smoke. It then bounced back up in the air and as the cross wind caught it, sent the 747 slamming to the ground on it's nose gear and port bogie, twisting the nose gear in the process. If you look carefully you will notice the angle at which the 747 hit the nose gear as one side hits the ground first. Thankfully, the landing was recovered well.
