This should have been one of my finest A2G and A2A flights being onboard the DC3 strapped in at the open cargo door i was suposed to photograph the PH-BUK on the ground and the DC2 inflight. None of which happend as a mechanical failure forced us to turn around :-(

I made a special journey down from Manchester to North Weald (about 180 miles), to see two DC4s/C54s which had just made the transatlantic crossing-see photo elsewhere in database by me-and was rewarded by not just seeing them, but also this Dak, "Fifi Kate," and amazingly good light for late November in the UK
